Making Room on the Shelf
Printed material is becoming obsolete and being removed from libraries, as online resources replace it as the primary research tool. Libraries as a physical place still serve as a designated place to gather, study, and relax. How can university libraries strive to maintain a relevant learning environment for their students and faculty?
This challenge is an opportunity to create an interior environment that satisfies the immediate needs of the user while remaining flexible to future change. The space that formerly housed large volumes of printed material needs to be redesigned and repurposed to better serve the ever-changing needs of its users.
